Well, after I finished my son’s crib and dresser, I decided a small project was the way to stay in the shop a little and still tend to my family...Since my father-in-law has just recently taken up bowhunting, I thought a small skinner would be a welcome addition to his hunting pack...Nothing too crazy here, just a knife kit from WoodCraft (about $20)...I had some birch cutoffs lying around, so they became handle material...Sanded them out on a drum attachment for the drill press, a little “upside-down” belt sander work, and here it is...I brushed the blade with some 180 grit paper to make it look a little “used”, and I am thinking about a simple leather sheath...Just finished with a simple coat of shellac to warm it up a little…...now if I can just get a deer in front of him, he’ll be GOLDEN!!!!
